The .30 carbine is a hard case to resize. It is a long, small diameter, shallow tapered case. Fired from a rifle with a generous chamber to assure it would feed and chamber reliably.
The only way to reform the case is to push it into a long tapering hole. The deeper you push the case in the smaller the die gets, so it is a very tight fit. Lee Resizing lubricant will make the job a little easier, whether a steel or carbide die.
