The Factory Crimp Die coming apart is a result of the Crimp Sleeve Collet being collapsed. This is caused by closing the die in the press without having a case in the die or possibly by having the die adjusted too deeply in the press. The Crimp Collet needs to be sprung back open. This is easily done by pushing a tapered punch into the small diameter opening on top of the Collet. We usually give it 3 - 4 taps with a wooden mallet. You need to expand the fingers of the Collet to a point that the Collet drags snugly within the die body and allows the empty case to enter without interference. A little grease on the tapered surface of the Collet won't hurt anything either.
If you do not feel comfortable performing this on your own, please return the die to the factory and we will do it for you.
