Lee Precision recommends smoking the mold with a wood match, or a gas/butane lighter. No drop out mold release spray is required.
Customers have been having difficulty with casting size after preparing their mold with Frankford Arsenal Drop Out Mold Release Spray. Some customers are applying excessive amounts of Frankford Arsenal Drop Out Mold Release to their bullet molds cavities, causing a build-up in the mold cavities to the point of altering cast bullet diameters. Some of these molds are making their way back to us and the customers issue is the mold is undersized / defective, when they are not.
To remove the build up of drop out spray in the cavities, Frankford Arsenal suggests using Acetone solvent and a stiff bristled nylon brush/tooth brush.
