The auto disk dispenses powder using system called Volume Metered Density (VMD). This system is based on the number of cubic centimeters that are required to hold a powder charge of a particular grain weight. The load data we use is reprinted with the permission of the powder manufacturer. The powder manufacturer establishes the start grains for a particular load. Using a formula we assign a disk cavity that comes closest to that grain weight without going over that start grain weight. So often the actual amount dispensed will be slightly less that the published data. It has little effect on the velocity or accuracy of the finished cartridge. That is why you see this variation. The auto disk will tend to leak a little of the smaller grain powders.
