Periodically clearing the chamfer blades of metal chips needs to be done to prevent the blades from sticking. This can be done by pushing the trimmer down onto a flat hard surface two or three times to make the chamfer blades retract fully into the body. This will clear chips from the blades that may otherwise prevent the blades from functioning properly.
