Useful Case Capacity

This topic is touched upon in the Modern Reloading Second Edition by Richard Lee, page 155:
"At the lower left of the drawing space you will find the useful case capacity in cubic centimeters. It is easy to compare this number to the 'Volume CC' in the starting loads and judge how full the case will be. Some folks tend to unnecessarily shy away from compressed charges - those with a small 'c' after the NEVER EXCEED loads. Often only the NEVER EXCEED charges are compressed and the starting load is just a desirable full case."

Useful case capacity is required in order for our loads program to calculate compressed charges.

To obtain useful case capacity in cc's for new cartridges, take the VMD x grain weight of the powder that occupies a case.

cc's x 15.43235 to convert value to grains.
