The 38/40 38-40 load data published by Hodgdon and included within our product instructions lists the C.O.L. cartridge overall length 1.600". This is longer than the SAAMI published maximum overall length 1.592". Typically a flat nose bullet is used with the 38/40 38-40, but Hodgdon must have used a different bullet nose point type when establishing the reloading data. It is safe if your cartridge overall length is 1.600" for this cartridge.
