Expander off Center - Pistol

It may appear that the expander in the die is off center.  This is not what is happening.  Case mouths are not a uniform thickness around the diameter.  When the expander is forced into the case mouth, the thinnest section expands the most, creating a bulge on one side.  This is where we recommend the Factory Crimp Die.

This die does a full length resizing after the bullet has been put in place.  It also provides a final crimp.  It will reduce or remove the bulge you are seeing.

If the bullet is not being seated straight in the case, this is another situation.  Our guess is the Bullet Seating Plug is not matching the bullet nose adequately to hold it straight.

Please send us a couple of bullets and request a Custom Bullet Seating Pplug.  The cost is $8.00 plus shipping.
