The Expander Plugs in Lee handgun Powder Through Expanding Dies are free to move up and down approximately 7/16 of an inch. This is to allow automatic operation of the Auto-Disk powder measures. This movement and abrupt stop on the down stroke shakes any powder in the plug or drop tube into the case. Where it stops on the down stroke of the ram presses have reduced mechanical advantage and will feel different than a die with a fixed expander.

If you are not using the Auto-Disk powder measure or funnel on your setup you may place a spacer above the Expander Plug to prevent movement and restore the feel of your other dies.
