Current 5 hole tool carrier production parts appear like the photo below. When the tool head is cast there are points where the mold is filled, called runners. When those runners are trimmed they leave a shear marks like what you have pictured. Those marks do not have a negative effect on the function of the press due to the tool carrier being completely supported by steel. Rest assured, it will not cause you any issues, as it is purely cosmetic and buried behind a steel ring its entire life. We are working with our vendor to adjust the trim die to help improve the visual appearance of this part on future production runs.
