Bullet Seating Die Leaving Scratches

The bullet seating die only contacts the last .06" of the case when crimping. If you are seeing scratches virtually the whole case length, you need to look at the Resizing and Decapping die. In some occasions small particles of brass adhere to the carbide. This is what causes the scratches. This brass can be removed by polishing with 400 grit paper wrapped around a wooden dowel. The carbide will not be effected. If you do not feel confident doing this yourself, return the die to the factory and we will take care of it for you.

Using some Lee Resizing Lubricant or light oil on every 5th case will keep this from re-occurring.
