Installing a new Loadmaster Carrier

To adjust the Carrier correctly, you will need to apply the correct amount of torque. If you are using a Torque Wrench, you will need to apply about 11 1/2 lbs of pressure. If you are using a 6" wrench, you will need to apply abut 25# of pressure, and with a socket and ratchet, you will need to apply about 12# of pressure. Anything over these amounts will damage the Carrier and will not allow it to index properly.

You may notice when you remove your old Carrier there are ridges on the bottom side of the Carrier, where it would sit on the Ram. These ridges are not present on new Carriers. The ridges in the bottom of the Carrier do not appear until after the Ram and Carrier have been adjusted, as the Ram will form them.
