Zinc in pot

A (1 to 10,000) ratio of Zinc to Lead, will cause you to have casting problems and improper mold fill out. Zinc is ultra corrosive to the steel pot liner and will quickly destroy your lead pot liner.

Some Pewter Alloys are also corrosive to the lining in the melting pot. You may try melting these alloys in your pot, but you will have to proceed at your own risk , we would not recommend or approve of their alloys.
